White House spokesman Sean Spicer stepped down Friday after a disagreement with President Donald Trump, The New York Times reported. Spicer resigned after Trump reportedly appointed Wall Street investor Anthony Scaramucci as White House communications director, the Times reported. Spicer's resignation after six months in the White House was widely reported by US media, but not immediately publicly confirmed. The Times reported that Spicer disagreed with the appointment of Scaramucci, a vocal Trump supporter with little political experience. Using the White House press secretary's Twitter account, Spicer had tweeted a link to Trump's weekly address just before reports of his departure.
