Report: Racial epithet possibly led Wisconsin G King to transfer

Wisconsin is looking into an allegation that a school staff member addressed guard Kobe King with a racial epithet, triggering the player’s recent transfer, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. The newspaper said it asked Justin Doherty, the senior associate athletic director who is in charge of the men’s basketball program, about the allegation, and he responded with a statement. King, who played La Crosse Central High School in Wisconsin, was a three-star signee in the Class of 2017. Having a racial epithet directed at him could result in King being granted immediate eligibility by the NCAA at another institution. King played in 19 games (all starts) for the Badgers this season, averaging 10.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
