BASKETBALL-NBA-BOS-ROZIER-THEISReuters America WireThe Boston Celtics reportedly extended qualifying offers to guard Terry Rozier and center Daniel Theis, making both players restricted free agents. The Celtics finished 49-33 during the regular season but lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the playoffs. Rozier, 25, averaged 9.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 79 games (14 starts) last season. Theis, 27, tallied 5.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in 66 contests (two starts). Rozier and Theis may sign a free-agent deal with another team, but the Celtics have the right to match the offer because of the players’ restricted status.
