Replies on compensation sought from ministries

The federal secretaries of defence and finance have been given two weeks to clarify their stance on compensating the family of a man who had disappeared from the heart of the federal capital over five years ago. In an order issued by the court, CJ Minallah directed the secretaries of the federal defence and finance ministries to clarify their position on the non-recovery of the missing citizen along with non-payment of a monthly stipend to the victim’s family. Both secretaries have been told to submit their reports by December 7. CJ Minallah asked who was responsible for the non-implementation of IHC’s verdict in the case issued in July 2018. The court further ordered the federal human rights ministry to send a representative on behalf of the secretary in the next hearing of the case.
