The Canadiens gave up three goals on odd-man rushes and one on a breakaway as the New Jersey Devils outscored Montreal 6-4 Thursday night to extend the Canadiens’ losing streak to six games. But the Canadiens gave up another odd-man rush after Brett Kulak was caught up the ice. It’s difficult to fault Carey Price on either first-period goal, but it should be noted that Zajac’s goal was the 13th goal scored on Price in 33 shots spread over three games. Price should have stopped the third New Jersey goal, although the defence again put the onus on the goaltender. Wood’s goal gave New Jersey a 3-2 lead and took away the momentum created by Kotkaniemi’s third goal, which ended a 14-game drought during which he registered only one assist.
