Former Rep. George Santos, ousted in a bipartisan vote, defended himself on the House floor yesterday, arguing that his expulsion would set a harmful institutional precedent. 331 House members, in a bipartisan vote, ousted the federally-indicted Long Island congressman, also accused of using campaign funds on botox and OnlyFans by the House Ethics Committee. Rep. Marc Molinaro, whose district includes Binghamton, voted with a House supermajority Friday to expel Rep. George Santos — who represents Long Island’s Nassau County — from Congress. Santos is the sixth person ousted from the House of Representatives, the first in over 20 years. With Santos’s expulsion, Republicans, who possess 221 seats to Democrats’ 213.
