Athlone's Aidan Heavey library. Reopening date confirmed for Athlone LibraryAthlone's Aidan Heavey Library is set to re‑open to the public on Thursday, February 19, it has been confirmed. The library closed to the public on Friday, October 24 and was initially expected to reopen in mid-January. A statement by Westmeath Libraries said that the library will be "fully operational" despite a "small amount of improvement works" which are continuing. The new #MyOpenLibrary self‑service access is expected to begin in mid‑March, offering even greater flexibility for members.
