For a long time, my support stopped at “trans women are women”. Otegha Uwagba’s Little Black Book: A Toolkit for Working Women is the book I needed when I began writing for a living four years ago. Work, food, gender presentation and beauty habits have been tools to control our behaviour for centuries. • Reni Eddo-Lodge’s Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race will be published by Bloomsbury in paperback on 8 March.
