Renfrew County's top doctor raising alarm over contacts

The acting medical officer of health for Renfrew County is raising the alarm over the number of contacts per COVID-19 case in the region. Dr. Robert Cushman, with the Renfrew County and District Health Unit, said the health unit is seeing between five and 20 contacts per infected person in community cases — a number he says is too high. Renfrew County is currently in the green zone on the province's pandemic scale, but Cushman doesn't see this as a reason for people to let down their guard. Cases in that area have accounted for more than a third of confirmed cases for Renfrew County and District Health Unit since Jan. 1, said Cushman. "This is how this virus will get into Renfrew County and this is how it will spread like a brushfire."
