3 Aug 2017 - 08:24 by OOSKAnews CorrespondentCAIRO, EgyptThree-way technical negotiations among Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan over the Grand Ethiopia Renaissance Dam continue. Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry arrived in Sudan 2nd August for a delayed official visit amid persisting tensions over the Grand Ethiopia Renaissance Dam (GERD). A Tripartite National Committee, comprising experts from Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan, was created in 2015 to address some of these concerns. In an effort to defuse transnational tensions Egypt’s irrigation minister, Mohammed Abdel-Ati recently dismissed rumors that Ethiopia has started filling the dam ahead of schedule. Satellite images taken July 10th had appeared to show around 200 million cubic meters of water pooled above the dam.
