The Congress today welcomed the Supreme Court verdict in the Nirbhaya case saying everyone should strive to build an environment that makes women feel safe and secure. She also said the December-16 gangrape case, on which the Supreme Court delivered its verdict today, is a reminder to all to work tirelessly toward building a safe and secure environment for women. "When will the law and order situation improve and who will make women secure and safe? AICC incharge of communications department Randeep Surjewala said justice has been delivered in the heart- wrenching Nirbhaya case, but said certain questions remain. He also asked why the Rs 1,000 crore Nirbhaya fund was not utilised to ensure safety for women.
