In November last year, the main Dunedin Relay for Life event was held at Forsyth Barr Stadium, attracting about 1000 participants in 70 teams, and raising about $105,000 for the Cancer Society Otago-Southland Division. A 12-hour University Relay for Life event was held in April this year, on campus, attracting 100 students and raising about $70,000. Moving the Dunedin Relay for Life to March meant more people could come together, and would make the event attractive across the region, she said.
