Regulator proposes investigative powerThe Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) plans to amend the Securities and Exchange Act by proposing to investigate securities wrongdoing cases entirely by itself, aiming to enhance the efficiency of law enforcement. This would help reduce the duration of the legal procedure, Ms Ruenvadee said. The SEC has appointed Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Law to study and make amendment suggestions, she said. The act has to be revised from time to time in order to meet changes in the financial landscape and adapt to the existing situation, Ms Ruenvadee said. The SEC also aims to amend the royal decree on digital assets to cover other types of businesses and new products.
