Department of Science and Technology (DoST) scholars in Region 9 won the award for Best Proposal for their modified greenhouse entry in the National DoST Scholars' Summit (NDSS). The proposal intends to address the effects of the pandemic on food production and security as well as promote the construction of modified, open-air greenhouses optimized for 'microspace' farming. Siclub, the only tertiary group outside Luzon to reach the final round, was awarded a fiberglass trophy, certificates and a cash prize for the win. The NDSS is an annual, nationwide gathering that aims to promote scientific awareness, bridge career opportunities and build connections among DoST scholars. Because of the pandemic, this year's event was held through an online platform that equally proved to be successful.
