Redskins promote Greg Manusky to defensive coordinator

Greg Manusky, who has nine years’ experience as an NFL defensive coordinator, replaces Joe Barry in the role for Washington. The Redskins will promote outside linebackers coach Greg Manusky to defensive coordinator, according to several people with knowledge of the situation on Sunday. It’s the fourth time Manusky, 50, will serve as a NFL defensive coordinator. The Redskins also requested permission to interview Houston Texans linebackers coach Mike Vrabel and defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, but they were both promoted as well. The Redskins opted to retain inside linebackers coach Kirk Olivadotti and assistant defensive backs coach Aubrey Pleasant, however.
