FeaturesRedefining the ethos of rock and metal music, AWN network presented ‘Maelstrom 2016’ recently at the Shalika Hall, Colombo from 3 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. Performing for the first time in Asia, was melodic death metal band- ‘Darkest Horizon’ from Germany. There was also ‘Coat of Arms’ from Dubai and ‘Rudra’ from Singapore, the pioneers of vedic metal and local veterans of rock music ‘Whirlwind’, the upcoming band ‘Abyss’ and the fresh collaboration of dynamic artists- ‘Neurocracy’. AWN Network is the brainchild of two ardent followers of rock music Keshan Wijesekara and Kamal Lazar who are looking to amalgamate international and local talents to deliver the universal language of music on one stage. This concert follows on their successful Maelstrom 2015.
