Reddit may now be in the cross-hairs as the investigation into Russian influence on the 2016 Presidental election casts a wider net. Reddit's inclusion in the investigation is yet to be confirmed, but it would be a legitimate and reasoned move considering Reddit’s problem with fake upvotes and bought accounts. Earlier this year I published a story, via Point, about the industry behind fake comments, fake accounts, fake upvotes and fake threads on Reddit. My investigation revealed that large, seemingly ordinary “internet marketing agencies” were actively engaged in using fake accounts to manipulate conversations on Reddit.
