Reddit has updated its rules and banned the AI-generated ‘deepfake porn’. The company announced in a blog post, “We want to let you know that we have made some updates to our site-wide rules against involuntary pornography and sexual or suggestive content involving minors. These policies were previously combined in a single rule; they will now be broken out into two distinct ones.”However, Reddit has not shut non-deepfake subreddits like CelebFakes. The Verge also points out that under public pressure; Reddit has also banned subreddits featuring things like sexually suggestive images of minors, leaked celebrity nude photos, and “creepshots” of unsuspecting women. There have been several other platforms which have already banned deepfakes porn such as Pornhub , Gfycat and Discord.
