The Red Sox seven and 13 start has been well documented. After the Red Sox-Yankees Thursday night series opener was rained out, the Yankees out pitched the Red Sox on Friday and Saturday in 4-1 and 5-3 Yankee wins. The problem of not facing reality was displayed by a Red Sox fan who tweeted that the Red Sox didn't actually lose the series two games to one because the series won't be finished until August third when last Thursday night's series opener will be made up. Then there are the two previous Red Sox series against the Indians and the Astros, two more series the Red Sox lost two games to one. That doesn't mean that the Red Sox can't get hot and make the playoffs.
