Tourists in Hurghada - CC via Wikimedia CommonsCAIRO - 24 December 2018: Red Sea governor Ahmed Abdullah has called on Chinese tourists to visit Red Sea resorts, pointing to a plan to lure more tourists from different parts of the world. He expected more Chinese tourists to visit Egypt in the coming period. "We want one percent of Chinese tourists every year," Abdullah said, noting that more than 100 million Chinese tourists head for different destinations annually. Asked about campaigns in China to attract tourists to visit Egypt, Abdullah said Chinese tourists are familiar with Egypt the same way China is familiar to Egyptians. Egypt ranks first as the most visited tourist destination in Africa by Chinese tourists, according to the Chinese tourists network.
