When Red Deer Rebels GM/head coach Brent Sutter grabbed Adam Helewka and Jake DeBrusk at the WHL trade deadline, it was with one goal in mind: The Memorial Cup. Evan Polei and Haydn Fleury also scored for the Rebels, who evened their record at 1-1 and guaranteed themselves a playoff game. The Huskies jumped out to an early lead when Meier picked the top corner on the game’s first power play. They can lock up, at least, a semifinal berth by beating the Brandon Wheat Kings in both clubs’ final round-robin game on Wednesday. Helewka drew an assist on the play to cap the San Jose Sharks prospect’s three-point night.
