On Friday, eight people died and property was destroyed in separate incidents following heavy rains in different parts of the country. Kenya Red Cross Society Secretary-General Abbas Gullet said the emergency fund will go towards provision of shelter and settlement, health and nutrition, water and food for the affected population. In Tana River, a directive was issued to forcibly move residents living in flood-prone areas to higher ground. RELIEF FOODKenya Red Cross has identified the worst affected counties as Tana River, Garissa, Kilifi and Kisumu, Mandera, Isiolo, Turkana, Marsabit, Makueni and Kitui where 48,177 households have been displaced so far.
