Leke Baiyewu, AbujaThe House of Representatives has urged the Federal Government to recruit 100,000 personnel for the Nigerian Army to strengthen the fight against insecurity across Nigeria. Specifically, the lawmakers said the fight against Boko Haram and the Islamic State West African Province insurgency on the North-East made the call more urgent. They also asked that retired personnel of the Armed Forces should be recalled to join the fight. This followed the consideration of an investigative report by the Abdurazak Namdas-led Committee on Army. A joint committee made up of the Committees on Defence, Army, Air Force, and National Security and Intelligence, carried out the task.
