(CNN) The start of spring is nearly two weeks away, but some areas of the US will feel more like summer this week. "The record warmth will be felt mainly across the Plains and Midwest, with dozens of records possibly broken over the next few days," said CNN meteorologist Dave Hennen. Potential record highsTemperatures will be running as much as 30 to 40 degrees above normal for these areas. Minneapolis, Minnesota, is forecast to reach a high of 68 on Tuesday, breaking its old record of 61 that dates back to 1879. The temperature should reach 65 on Tuesday, breaking a record of 58.
