Banking and Payments Federation Ireland chief executive Brian Hayes said February saw the highest number of FTBs ever approved for that month. Meanwhile, estate agency DNG said the annual rate of Dublin house price inflation eased in the first three months of the year. The value of overall mortgage approvals rose by 24.4pc month-on-month and by 10.1pc in the last year. Meanwhile, DNG reported the annual rate of house price inflation in Dublin fell to 4.8pc over the 12 months to the end of March. The latest annual rate of increase of 4.8pc recorded by DNG is in stark contrast to the same period last year when it recorded an annual rate of growth of 9.6pc in Dublin residential property prices.
