PETALING JAYA: MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic) has called on the Prime Minister to reconsider his decision to end the contracts for some 17,000 civil servants. "Despite that, I appeal to the Prime Minister to give consideration that these terminations be delayed until after Hari Raya. He added that the Prime Minister has the prerogative to review the decision on compassionate grounds. "I am sure that Pakatan Harapan is aware and concerned about the fate of Muslim civil servants. On Wednesday (May 16), Dr Mahathir said some 17,000 civil servants who are political appointees will be axed in a bid to reduce Government spending.
