SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 4, 2024 (BSS) – Treasury bench lawmaker of Rajshahi-6 constituency Mohammad Shahriar Alam today said the recent national elections were challenging. Chief whip Noor-E Alam Chowhdury raised the motion in the House and later it was seconded by whip Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Shawpan. The voter turnout during the elections was over 53 percent while it was not less than 51 percent particularly in Rajshahi region, said the lawmaker. Taking part in the discussion, another opposition Major General (Retd) Syed Mohammad Ibrahim said the 12th parliament elections were very much competitive. Earlier, they paid rich tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for his contribution to establishing an independent Bangladesh.
