Tesla is recalling nearly 3,500 of its 2022-2023 Model Y vehicles due to bolts in the car’s second-row back seat frames not being securely tightened. Approximately 4% of the Model Y cars are affected by the recall, according to the filing. The NHTSA said the loose seat frame bolt could reduce the performance of the vehicle’s seat belt system, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash, CNBC reported. On Model Y vehicles, the second-row seat back frames are secured with four bolts each, according to CNN. According to the recall report, Tesla received five warranty claims regarding the bolts between Dec. 9, 2022, and Feb. 14, 2023.
