Would-be homeowner John Dudley recently contacted the Real Estate Authority with his concerns about misleading prices on properties listed for sale by negotiation on real estate websites. On Monday it released a new plan to help homeowners and agents navigate the real estate market without falling foul of the rules. But Dudley said improvement in the authority’s complaints process was necessary and overdue. Supplied Real Estate Authority chief executive Belinda Moffat says the authority is there to help protect consumers from harm. SUPPLIED Homeowners and Buyers Association NZ president John Gray (left) says some of their members have been disappointed after pursuing a compliant with the Real Estate Authority.
