Real Madrid are set to sign AS Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe with a world record transfer fee of 180 million euro. This move will eclipse the 105m euro record set by another Frenchman Paul Pogba when he moved from Juventus to Manchester United last season. One of the most exciting prospects in world soccer, the 18-year-old scored 26 goals in all competitions last season, helping Monaco win the league and reach the Champions League semi-finals. Earlier in the week, the Ligue 1 club had stated that a number of European clubs had approached Mbappe without their permission. "Important' European clubs made contact with Kylian Mbappe and his entourage without (our) authorisation," said the club on its website.
