Ramos is said to be unsettled at Real after a bust-up with club president Florentino Perez after they were knocked out of the Champions League by Ajax earlier this season. United and Liverpool were reported to have made contact with Ramos’ agent over a move but Marca now say Zidane has intervened to try and convince Ramos to snub any advances. Liverpool have already distanced themselves from the rumours but it is claimed it has nothing do with the previous bad blood between the club and the player. Reds supporters were furious with Ramos when he appeared to catch Mohamed Salah with an elbow in last year’s Champions League final before a clash involving the two meant Salah had to limp off with what was later diagnosed as a broken shoulder.
