Rayong pile misery on Port in Thai League 1

Port's FA Cup victory over former Thai League 1 champions SCG Muang Thong United in midweek turned out to be a mere flash in the pan as Jadet Meelarp's men fell to sixth-placed PTT Rayong in an away game on Saturday night. Port, who led the standings last month, have skidded to fifth place on the table after claiming only two points from their last six winless league outings. At Rayong, Port started attacking from the beginning of the match and saw Sumanya Purisay shot an early opportunity over the bar. Bordin Phala was then denied by Rayong goalkeeper Peerapong Ruangnin and the hosts missed their chance go in front when Apiwat Pengprakhon missed the target. Rayong held their ground well until the final whistle to walk away with their fourth straight league victory.
