Following a three-day remand, Harun was brought before the court of Sylhet Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman on Sunday afternoon. Harun was arrested on October 23 over his alleged involvement in the custodial death of Rayhan Ahmed. Following the hearing, the court granted a three-day remand for Harun, which expired on Sunday. Rayhan Ahmed was reportedly beaten to death on October 11 in police custody at the Bandar Bazar police outpost. Excluding Akbar, the suspended policemen are: assistant sub-inspector Touhid Miya, constable Titu and constable Harunur Rashid – all from Bandar Bazar police outpost.
