HM Ershad, who was officially recognised as Leader of the Opposition after being elected as MP from Rangpur 3 seat, on January 4, announced that his party will be the main opposition in parliament while he will act as the leader of the opposition in parliament and his brother GM Quader the deputy leader of the opposition. Raushan, the party's senior co-chairman, was the opposition leader in 10th parliament.
