Governor Rasanga, Deputy Governor James Okumbe and their staff have been operating from an old office where mayors in the old system of administration were based. Siaya’s minister for governance and administration and the county secretary have also been operating from that location. About 200 county staff, among them all the chief officers and department directors, have been working in a makeshift office, said Governance minister Dismas Wakla. "The county secretary, the county executive in charge of governance, the county attorney and other senior administrators will occupy the first floor. Mr Wakla noted that the county government used a “conservative figure” for the project because it needed to free up resources for other developments.
