There is an understated brilliance to the way that Kyle Lowry plays basketball that sometimes can escape even the more astute observers in the stands or in front of televisions. That legacy grew a bit more on Thursday when the 33-year-old Raptors guard was chosen to play in his sixth straight NBA all-star game when Eastern Conference reserves were announced after balloting among conference coaches. The turnover Lowry created basically saved the game for the Raptors. “He read the play,” Raptors coach Nick Nurse said. Team captains Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James will draft the teams for the Feb. 16 game in Chicago next Thursday night.
