Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri will not face charges for a reported skirmish with a sheriff’s deputy in Oakland, Calif., after the Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors to win the NBA championship last June. The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office made the announcement on Tuesday, the day the Raptors unveiled the championship banner before their season-opening win against the New Orleans Pelicans. The DA’s office said it met with Ujiri on Monday, capping a summer-long investigation that spread into the fall. “The District Attorney’s Office has determined that no criminal charges will be filed in the matter,” a statement read. I am happy that this is now behind me and I look forward to the task of bringing another championship to the City of Toronto.”
