Harrowing video footage has emerged of the alleged rape victim being tied to the 21-year-old suspect with ropes, while a crowd chanted slogans and beat the girl in the Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh yesterday. The girl was tied around her waist as dozens of men chanted 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', which means 'Long Live Mother India'. The alleged rape victim's family were among those who forced her to make the humiliating walk with her suspected attacker - who is married with two children - to shame her, local media reported. Six people, including the alleged rapist, were arrested by police after the video went viral and caused outrage. Superintendent of Police S Anand said the woman told investigators that three men had tried to rape her in a field near Rai Kheda village.
