The incident happened at Lohagara upazila early on Monday. The deceased is Saiful Islam, 26, who was a sole accused—in a case filed with Lohagara police station—for raping a ninth-grader on April 12. RAB 7 said a team of the elite force conducted a drive to arrest Saiful. He added that upon seeing RAB, the associates of the accused opened fire, targeting the elite force.
