Our Special CorrespondentNew Delhi: Minerva Punjab FC owner Ranjit Bajaj found himself in trouble when the All India Football Federation (AIFF) fined him Rs 10 lakh for making racial remarks against the match officials during an under-18 Youth League match in Shillong last Saturday. "No way was I guilty of making any racial remark, which I had already explained. He not only abused the referee, who was from a NorthEast state, in the most objectionable manner but also threatened to get him banned for life. The disciplinary committee said it had to take stern action since Bajaj had been guilty of such actions before also. While Bajaj alleged his players were approached for match-fixing, there were complaints against him over non-payment of players' salaries.
