Rangs launches Bangladesh’s first vehicle assembly plant


Rangs Group has opened Bangladesh’s first vehicle assembly plant in Narayanganj’s Sonargaon upazila where different motor vehicles will be assembled, reducing the cost of the vehicles up to 15% in the country. Initially the plant will assemble Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) pick-ups and human-haulers but will gradually also assemble different types of vehicles of different brands, Rangs Motors Managing Director (MD) Sohana Rouf Chowdhury said. Rangs Motors Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dileep Banerjee said Mahindra & Mahindra will provide the completely knocked down (CKD) kits, which is a complete kit needed to assemble a product. Obaidul also praised Rangs Group Chairperson Abdur Rouf Chowdhury for his honesty and integrity and recognised the good reputation of Mahindra products for its quality. Chairperson of Rangs Group Abdur Rouf Chowdhury, Managing Director of Rangs Motors, Sohana Rouf Chowdhury, Rangs Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dileep Banerjee and other high officials from both companies were present at the inauguration ceremony.
