Polymerase Chain Reaction machine at Rangpur Medical College Hospital Dhaka TribuneThey have 240 kits and around 500 PPEs (personal protective equipment) in the labRangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on Thursday started testing samples of people with coronavirus symptoms at the laboratory of microbiology department. A 10-member taskforce headed by Dr Nurunnabi Laizu, principal, RMCH, started the testing after collecting samples from 42 suspected coronavirus patients from across the division, confirmed Dr Mostanur Rahman, head of microbiology department. Dr Mostanur said they will test samples of the patients admitted to the hospital with cough, fever and breathing complications, reports UNB. Besides, they will test samples collected by the medical teams from patients staying at home. They have 240 kits and around 500 PPEs (personal protective equipment) in the lab, he said adding that five doctors and two trained medical technologists are conducting the test.
