Rangers’ Mitch Garver (left knee soreness) could be nearing return to lineup

OAKLAND — There’s a chance Rangers designated hitter Mitch Garver will be in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale in Oakland, but his next appearance will likely come after the Rangers return to Globe Life Field for the series against Tampa Bay. Garver had some left knee soreness after Thursday’s game against Oakland and was checked out by the team doctors and the reports back have been promising. If there’s any soreness there, there’s no reason to force it.”The latest delay for Garver comes at an inopportune time. Garver went 0-for-4 on Thursday when the soreness started, snapping a streak of three-straight games with a home run. As of now, the Rangers only need Garver — acquired from Minnesota in a trade for Isaiah Kiner-Falefa before the season — to swing.
