Politics of Sunday, 15 February 2026Source: peacefmonline.comThe Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Eric Adjei, has strongly rejected demands by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Minority for the removal of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) CEO, Randy Abbey. The Minority has accused Randy Abbey of mismanaging the cocoa sector, arguing that the recent reduction in cocoa producer prices reflects a failure of leadership. They have therefore called on President John Mahama to dismiss him immediately. Speaking in a one-on-one interview on UTV on Friday, Eric Adjei insisted that “Randy Abbey is going nowhere.”He explained that the price cut was a difficult but necessary decision to safeguard the long-term stability of the sector. He challenged the NPP to present a credible alternative if they believe the reduction was misguided.
