Ram has partnered with Harman Kardon, a brand of the the Samsung-owned audio specialist Harman, to recruit Grammy Award-winning Nashville music producer Dave Cobb to create an optimal audio environment. "I'm in the recording studio every day and no matter how good our studio sounds, we know people mostly listen to music in their vehicles," Cobb told me. Cobb told me that the whole idea for harnessing this reality in the service of Ram actually started from "talking trash" with Jeff Summers, a friend who is chief of Ram advertising. So Cobb flew to Michigan and met with Ram designers and Harman Kardon engineers to tune the system in the lab where pre-production testing was taking place. "The biggest point was to make the sound feel as it was intended," Summers told me.
