Rally calls for revocation of Aung San Suu Kyi's Nobel Peace Prize

Referring to the crackdown as “genocide”, dozens of students from Ibnu Chaldun Islamic University demanded all parties to stop the killing of Rohingyas. “[We] demand the revocation of the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Aung San Suu Kyi," rally coordinator Julkifli L. Ali said during the rally in front of the Myanmar Embassy in Central Jakarta on Friday. The rally also demanded the Indonesian government carry out efforts to stop Myanmar’s military authorities’ persistent attacks on Rohingya people. Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. M. Iriawan said 3,000 police and military personnel were deployed to secure the rally, which was participated by around 2,000 people from various organizations.
