Gurgaon’s Police and Road Safety Organisation (RSO) celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with a twist this year. In return, the officers sought a pledge from these violators, to adhere to traffic rules. “Raksha Bandhan ke din, hum sabko pyaar se samjhaaya ki traffic rules follow karein,” says Kanta Devi, a woman inspector participating in the drive. These plays highlighted the importance of following traffic rules such as not using mobile phone while driving, wearing seat belt, giving way to an ambulance, and avoiding drunk driving. On this auspicious day, we need to spread the message of women’s safety as well as aware people to obey traffic rules.
