Rajkummar Rao is known for his choice of offbeat roles and this time, the actor has given his nod to playing terrorist Omar Sheikh in director Hansal Mehta's thriller Omerta. The British terrorist of Pakistani origin, Ahmed Omar Saeeed Sheikh was involved in the kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in 2002 and had links with various Islamist groups. The actor-filmmaker duo have worked together in Shahid and share a great professional relationship. Hansal has revealed that he had wanted to make this film even before Shahid but since this film required a lot of research, they had to delay it. It will be interesting to see the actor play a role that requires him to be the anti-hero.
