Rajasthan braces for quota stir

A 15-member delegation of Gujjars arrived here on Monday to hold talks with the State government on the contentious issue. Meanwhile, prohibitory orders under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code have been imposed in Bharatput district till May 31. The Rapid Action Force battalions have been sent to Bayana, Hindon and Bharatpur towns to deal with any untoward situation. The Rajasthan HC restrained the State government on November 9, 2017, from implementing the provisions of the Bill. The apex court has since asked the State government to maintain status quo till the High Court decides a pending case against the impugned Bill.
