The ongoing country-wide rainfall, caused by a land depression in the Gangetic delta, is likely to continue until Sunday, the met office said. “As per our projection, the rainfall is likely to continue until Sunday noon and then it will gradually improve, said Bazlur Rashid,” said a meteorologist of BMD. The met office has recorded 149mm rainfall in Dhaka in 24 hours – from 6am on Friday to 6am on Saturday. However, the highest gross rainfall has recorded in Khulna division, as all of the six stations found rainfall count above 100mm. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) also projected heavy to very heavy rainfall till tomorrow at different spots in West Bengal, Assam and Meghalaya.
